About this event
There are over 1 million Australians suffering with an eating disorder; it is estimated that over 16.3% of Australians are suffering with either disordered eating or a diagnosed eating disorder.
According to the InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders, the increase in eating disorder symptoms has been exorbitant through the COVID pandemic, with a 74% increase in food restriction, a 66% increase in binge eating and an 88% increase in body image concerns. With 40% of eating disorders being undiagnosed, how do we recognise, screen and manage eating disorders in primary care?
Join us face to face at the Nambucca & Macksville Clinical Society Meeting to network with fellow clinicians, enjoy a two-course dinner, and learn more about eating disorders, the management, support and available services in your region.
Joining us will be Dr Ashlea Broomfield, GP and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician to explain how eating disorders impact patients, how to recognise them in practice and how to implement an eating disorder management plan. Local Eating Disorder Coordinators, Ute Morris and Linda Winn will provide access and referral information on the local Eating Disorder Service.
Register now, come a long, ask lots of questions and better understand eating disorders in the Nambucca Valley.
