Wheel Throwing w/ Michaela Kloeckner

A 2 day wheel-throwing workshop with Michaela Kloeckner at Phoenix School of Arts, Materials included.

On week 1 you will learn new skills including hand wedging, centering, opening up, compressing and pulling up clay in order to shape cylinders and bowl forms. Learn to make plates the easy way.

On week 2 you will finish your wheel thrown ceramics, trimming, turning, pulling handles, attaching handles. Explore hand painting and sgraffito using ceramic colours.

Michaela was workshop trained in 1981 under the guidance of Master Potter Errol Barnes at Lyrebird Ridge Pottery, Springbrook, Qld .She acquired many skills during her accomplished career of over 40 years, one of them being an accomplished production thrower.
